What is digital humanities?

Digital humanities means collaboration, technological development, and a synthesis between the sciences and the arts. It means using mathematical tools for a deeper text analysis. It means tracking cultural change across hundreds of years of publishing. It means access to billions of artistic endeavors and the ability to contribute to them. It means changing the definition of intellectual property.

But most importantly, it means participation. Participating in the exchange of ideas, both public and private, participating in remixing, hacking, and copyright battles, participating in everything from meme trafficking to encyclopaedia advancement.

Digital humanities is the fluid integration of our past with our present and our future.
